I was born and raised in Germany. I moved to Hiroshima more than 30 years ago and have been living here since.
I spent most of my working life in Japan and my children grew up here.
So, I can say that I know quite a number of the many facets of Japan.
Hiroshima, my adoptive home, is famous to most people because of its history.
Today the city understands itself as an appeal for peace and is one of the most popular places for tourists from all over the world to visit.
Hiroshima is also the economic and political center in western Japan. Automobile manufacturer Mazda is only one of many industries located here. The Kansai region can be reached by bullet train in only 1 1/2 hours and even the most remote places in western Honshu and on Shikoku and Kyushu can be reached in half a day of travel.
In my work my motto is "quality over quantity". This means: customers should expect my translations to be flawless and my interpreting to be swift and exact.

- studied Japanology and Anglistics at Berlin Humboldt University, specialized in translation/interpreting
- spent about 1 1/2 years employed as an interpreter to an agency in Germany
- spent about 3 years employed to a translation office in Hiroshima
- spent the past 25 years as a freelance translator

Machine tools, railway rolling stock, heating and air conditioning systems, automotive industry, shipbuilding, medical appliances, environment technology, electronics, construction, energy, cameras, tax, legal affairs, sociology, history, music, art, design, furniture, agriculture, forest management, anthroposophy, education, handicrafts, and tourism.
I am always interested in new topics so I am not limited to the fields mentioned above.
