The price is based on the number of characters in the Japanese text, or the number of words in the English text, respectively. Furthermore, the kind of text also has an influence on the price. For example, how much background research is necessary? Are there tables to draw or a layout to adjust? And how much adjustment is necessary to achieve the style of the finished text?
Approximate price: 12 Yen/0,8 Euro per Japanese character, 22 Yen/0,18 Euro per English word.
For translations with a very small volume I charge a minimum of 3000 Yen.
● Interpreting:
The price is based on time, the basic unit is half days.
Also, the kind of interpreting has an influence on the price. Attending for tourist purposes needs far less preparation than, say, simultaneous interpreting for a court trial.
Approximate price: 15000 Yen to 35000 Yen per half day.
● Proofreading, editing etc.
The time necessary depends very much on the quality of the source text. Therefore, charge per hour.
Approximate price: 4000 Yen per hour
